Niiiiiiice. Been looking for a new TV in the bedroom. Samsung LCDs are the shit.

Gizmodo is saying the LN-T4065F, LN-T4665F and LN-T5265F have 50,000:1 contrast ratio. Nothing about these here though.
Richard Lawler @ Jan 7th 2007 7:18PM
Unfortunately, Gizmodo is incorrect. As mentioned above, they have a 12,000:1 contrast ratio, and the 52-inch is pictured atop this post.

What's the native res on those SlimFit CRTs? That's pretty sweet price...
David LaCagnina @ Jan 8th 2007 12:05PM
CRTs dont have "native" resolutions. That being said, those units support up to 1080i.
007 @ Jan 8th 2007 1:55PM
Did they mention when the crt's will be available?
Mark M @ Jan 9th 2007 4:29AM
In the section: The Ultra-Slim DLP line is also getting refreshed with 10,000:1 contrast ratios, "3D ready"...
What is "3D ready" referring to??

Anybody know the differences between the 2007 TX-T2793 and 2006 TX-S2793?

I sell electronics for a living, so the Samsung rep spoke to me for a little bit about the features of some of the new products.
She claimed the CRTs would be available in March. I don't know if that's when they'll begin producing them or when they'll be available in stores though. Also new on the CRT is they're trying to do something to fix the screen bowing problem by making the pixels rectangular in the corners. I don't know if that'll work, but it's worth a shot. They will have LED lit LCDs. And as for 3-D. Think of 3-D movies where you slip on your glasses. It is related, but not totally like that. Let's say two people are playing versus on a game. Both are wearing glasses and seeing two different screens. Someone who isn't wearing them would see a bunch of junk on the screen. Again, not sure how it works. But this is what I've been told from my local Samsung product rep.

Okay, now that the rep has come to visit with the official product book, I can correct something. The CRTs are coming out in April, however some of their other TVs will be coming out in March.
Outstanding Punk @ Feb 8th 2007 12:09PM
Oh. And the CRT should be coming out at the same price as the current model, $700.
